On completion of this unit, participants would have learnt the knowledge and application skills needed to help them to manage the budget. This involves budget development, implementation and monitoring, managing the process of accounting and cash controls, implementing loss prevention and analysing report findings for full compliance with financial procedures and for continual improvement.

Course Outline

1. Develop budget in accordance with rules, regulations and procedures governing budgeting.
2. Manage process of accounting and cash controls in accordance with accounting and controls policies and procedure.
3. Implement effective loss prevention in accordance with organizational policies, guidelines and operating procedures.
4. Comply with financial procedures in accordance with internal controls and procedures.
5. Analyse report findings and take necessary follow-up actions in relations to budget
6. Perform implementation of budget within established timelines and budget control policies and procedures.
7. Monitor implementation of budget in accordance with budget control guidelines.

Mode of Instruction

This 43-hours module uses mini-lecture, class discussions, learning portfolio, case studies and activities such as role play to enhance learning.

Upon successful completion of the course and passing all assessments, participant will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SSG.
