WSQ Tourist Guide Programme


The WSQ Tourist Guide Training Programme aims to equip learners with the essential knowledge and application skills to describe Singapore heritage, culture, key landmarks, memorials, recommend Singapore experience, write & review tour commentary, conduct tour and enhance the guiding techniques of learners. 


Course Objectives

Upon completion of this programme, learners will be able to apply a wide-range of skills and knowledge including:

3. Promote Singapore as a Tourist Destination + Apply Tourism Knowledge (Integrated)  
4. Write Tour Commentary  
5. Conduct Tour  



  • E-learning (50 hours)
  • Applied Learning (182 hours)
  • Assessment (12 hours)
  • Part-time: Class room Training (Tue & Thu or Mon & Wed:6.45 to 9.45pm and Sat: 9.00am to 4.00pm or )

    Practical Trips (Sat: 9.00am to 6.00pm and Some Suns: 9.00am to 6.00pm)

  • Full-time: Classroom Training & Practical Trips (Mon - Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm)

Mode of Instruction

E-learning, lectures (short presentation), group activities, discussions, peer sharing, case studies, role play, field tour practical exercises and written assignments



Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive the WSQ Statement of Attainments (SOAs) and the Tourist Guide License from Singapore Tourism Board.

Entry Requirement

·        Over 21 years old of age and medically fit

·        English proficiency to listen, speak, read and write in clear and confident manner, and possess GCE “O” Level pass in English (Min Grade B4) or workplace literacy skills at proficiency level equivalent to WSQ WPL Level 6 as stated in the Employability Skills WSQ Framework (for application of Tourist Guide Licence)

·        Basic knowledge of Tourism industry and organisational products and services

·        Preferably 1 year of working experience; and

·        Attitudes that include:

o             Being honest to visitors and management

o             Being warm, friendly and helpful

o             Being welcoming to visitors

o             Being prompt and proactive in meeting visitor needs

o             Being passionate in providing customer experience attraction/destination
